PAPER AND GOOD PRACTICE PRESENTATION
What is iLead – The Creative Leader Academy?
The academy is on how to develop leadership, advocacy, negotiation skills, public speaking and other skills through a number of training sessions. Peer learning activities where those attending training will pass the information acquired to other members of the organisation will follow this. Following this a number of simulation exercises are carried out whereby discussions take place amongst all participants and a list of policy recommendations is developed and presented to the relevant stakeholders.
The main objectives identified are:
– To provide training opportunities for youths in leadership, advocacy and negotiating skills
– To provide an opportunity for youth to come together and discuss matters that effect them
– To provide an opportunity to youth to network and establish links with other European youth organisations
– To provide an opportunity for youth to develop a set of policy recommendations on youth strategies that should be adopted by national and European governments
